Respirators For NYC First Responders

My mission is complete! Thanks to all the donors here, I have personally delivered over 640 N95 Respirators to the SBA NYPD for the fine men and women of New York's Finest.
On April 3rd, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state would assist the coronavirus-stricken NYPD however possible Friday, as the pandemic has sickened nearly 20 percent of the force. The White House also sent supplies to the NYPD in Operation Blue Blood.

Balance is $73. I used this plus $127 of my own money to prepay for 80 KN95 face masks for the donors.
First delivery of 320 3M N95 Respirators was on April 1st. I used my own money to buy these first since the GoFundMe funds won't start arriving until April 7th and WE CAN'T WAIT because 5,600 NYPD OUT SICK as of March 31!
Second delivery of 320 3M N95 Respirators was on April 7th. Hopefully that's 640 less sick officers and their families.
The NY Post had previously reported that the NYPD has distributed about 67,000 pairs of gloves, 26,000 surgical masks! The more protective Respirators are not expected until MAY at the earliest!
My name is Hung Tam, I live in NYC, and I am the uncle of two NYPD officers and was initially concerned when I read about this lack of PPE Respirators for NYPD members. With the recent news about all the sick NYPD and EMS members, that concern has grown to anger that the First Responders have been abandoned.
All the PPE supplies and crowdfunding seem to be targeted towards helping Hospitals which absolutely deserve the help, but we must not forget the people that protect and serve us too. With that in mind, I decided to start a Mission to Get Respirators for First Responders ASAP.
Instead of waiting until the goal is met, I will start buying and distributing Respirators right away - no matter how much has been raised.
With my experience in e-commerce and sourcing domestic and foreign products, I can get access to certified Respirators - bypassing redtape and delays.
I will acquire N95 standard (which have skyrocketed in price) and comparable Respirators at more reasonable prices and available ASAP.
The funds raised here will be used for their purchase and delivery directly to the NYC First Responders. I will provide updates on deliveries on a regular basis.
The plan is to buy often so I can deliver consistently and get as many Respirators as possible for the buck. Here is a good article about what's available from outside the US at less cost.
I am honored that Mr. Ed Mullins, the President of Sergeants Benevolent Association of NY has agreed to receive and distribute the Respirators on behalf of NYPD members. Please contact the other unions to contact me about helping with distribution.
Let's not wait for the politicians and get the Respirators to these fine men and women right away.
